The winners were announced on the 6 of June 2004 in a special ceremony
at the Tolbooth in Stirling.
Around 150 productions were eligible for the awards and there was a shortlist
(details
with linked reviews) for each of the categories.
The theatre critics in Scotland involved in awarding
the second Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland were:
Mary Brennan (The Herald), Mark Brown (Sunday Herald), Neil Cooper (The
Herald), Allan Chadwick (Metro), Steve Cramer (List), Robert Dawson Scott
(The Times), Thom Dibdin (Edinburgh Evening News), Mark Fisher (Guardian),
Thelma Good (EdinburghGuide.com), Sarah Jones (The Independent), Joyce
McMillan (Scotsman), Kenneth Spiers (Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday) and
Joy Watters (The Courier).
The Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland were first awarded in 2003
for five categories, Best Performance (Male and Female), Best Design,
Best New Play and Best Production.
The 2002 - 03

Any professional theatre work produced in Scotland in the last twelve
months from May - April , (the natural break in the theatre year) was
eligible.
