Artistic Directors - Dominic Hill and James Brining.
Dundee Rep Theatre announced on 21 February 2003 two new exciting
and creative appointments to be artistic leaders of the organisation
- James Brining (presently artistic director of TAG) as Joint-Chief
Executive) and Dominic Hill ( recently directed Dundee Rep's
The Winter's Tale and the Snow Queen) as Artistic Director. Hamish
Glen previous Artistic Director went to a new post at the Belgrade
Theatre, Coventry.
This is the home to Scotland's only resident Company whose actors are
mostly appointed for 3 years and with some one year apprentices and
invited actors form an ensemble company. Under Hill and Brining the
size of the core has reduced enabling the company to vary the range
and size of the company more easily.
The Rep building
is in Tay Square about 7 - 10 minutes walk from train station. It is
a modern theatre containing a comfortable auditorium. An upstairs bar
with some squashy sofas and downstairs restaurant serving tasty food
where you may be best to book at weekends. Good disabled access. It
also runs a Commmunity Company and shares the building but not rehearsal
space with the Scottish Dance Theatre.
