The National Theatre Of Scotland, NTS, has since the announcement of
its creation been slowly and steadily growing a band of staff and associates,
with a strong playwriting vein. The commissioning non-building based
theatre will draw on the talents of existing companies, playwrights
and theatre artists working in Scotland and mix in foreign renowned
practitioners, creating new work and much wanted revivals and adaptations
for all ages. The NToS aims to bring theatre to the Scottish nation,
to all sorts of venues including our large city theatres and small rural
halls. Its first exciting season of many very varied productions will
begin in February 2006 with nine free shows performed across Scotland
on the evening of 25 February.
