This five year old company regularly tour productions all over Scotland to large theatres, small theatres and tiny halls both on the mainland and to islands. They do so with assistance of Awards For All, South Lanarkshire Council, East Kilbride Arts Centre. East Kilbride News, Kidd Property Developers and Burns Storage Facilities.
As well as his work for Rapture Michael Emans has been an assistant director for the Royal Lyceum Theatre with their Artistic Director Mark Thomson for Six Black Candles by Des Dillon and Uncle Varick (a Scottish version of Uncle Vanya) in the 2003 - 04. In the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe he will be directing Scottish playwright Iain Heggie, (Love Freaks, Sauchiehall Street, An Experienced Woman Gives Advice) in his new one man show.
I frequently find much to praise in this company who have grown in experience and reputation. It has delight to watch them. Their ability to cope on small funding is a tribute to their ingenuity and to Lyn McAndrew's good eye for design opportunities. Their sponsors are to be congratulated on their support. This is the kind of company Scotland needs. One which can and will take good quality shows far and wide, many of them Scottish Premieres of significant plays.
