Pitlochry Festival Theatre www.pitlochry.org.uk 01796 484626. By the banks of the River Tummel, their theatre has most beautiful setting. You can take in two different plays on the same day where you see * Pitlochry is about 2hrs easy drive from Edinburgh + has lots of hotels and B+Bs. The Byre Theatre www.byretheatre.com 01334 475000. Abbey Street or down lane from South Street. The new theatre's now equiped with 2 theatre spaces, a main stage and a studio. There's also the new Byre Cafe-Bar open 7 days with bar, self and table service eating spaces. Well designed in a beautiful setting. Good for all with excellent sight lines and access. Also has other events check website for details. Losing Louis - Borderline Theatre - Two brothers, two very different lives meet when it's thier father Louis they must bury. A good mixed programme from a manager with an eye for quality. Kaahini - Red Ladder Theatre - Maya Chowdry's play set in contemporary Britain about the dreams of adolescence and questions od identity. 20 Sept at 7:30pm. Rikki and Me - The Comedy Unit - An affectionate dramatisation of Rikki Fulton with Tony Roper as Rikki. 28 - 30 Sept at 7.30pm. A new venue opened in March 2004 with a cafe, varied and very good programme of performing arts including high quality touring productions and exhibitions, films to come. BOWHILL THEATRE website at Bowhill 3 miles outside Selkirk. Small intimate theatre in the Victorian game larder of Bowhill House. Also with an well designed exhibition on James Hogg the Ettrick Shepherd and writer. Country Park open May - August. House open in July.
