Cyprus - Mull Theatre - On Mull "Colonel" Brian Traquair, a man with a secretive past returns with company, Griffin, a figure from sunny days on Cyprus kown also to his daughter Alison. He brings back the darkness of the outside world. And through the door with him come wars foreign and domestic, old and new. Terrorism and intrigue, corruption and covert action, have come home.
Review - Eloquent, if surprisingly old-fashioned.

A Man For All Seasons - Bill Kenwright - Sir Thomas More's the friend of Henry the VIII but this scholar churchman and lawyer finds his moral standards have him taking a stance again the King. Martin Shaw (Judge John Deed) stars in Robert Bolt's powerful play.

Ubu The King - Tron Theatre Company / Dundee Rep / Bite:05 / Barbican / The Young Vic - As part of Young Genius - Alfred Jarry's glorious, scandalous Ubu The King is given a contemporary twist in this adaptation of Alfred Jarry's play by David Greig. Gerry Mulgrew stars as the vulgar and foul-mouthed Ubu as an elderly Macbeth for our modern world. Aided and abetted by his wife, Dad Ubu rises to power by assassinating King Vassily of Khazakstan and taking his crown.
Review - More comic delusional than political satire.

Macbeth - Out of Joint - Relocating Shakespeare's classic to an African state, Max Stafford Clarke directs this compelling site-specific, promenade production.
