Chaos delights children
Huge ladles, a waiter who disrupts the ordered lives of the kitchen maids,
and a wide varieties of music and dancing styles make this a madly zany
dance piece. The children greet with shrieks of delight and much pointing
out to one another the latest move in the danced confrontation which changes
from playful to nightmarish showdowns when the waiter finds the maids
stop vying for his attention and gang up on him.
It maybe a dance piece danced by female dancers but the young boys beside
me were animated with glee as the dance went from big brass bands, to
Spanish Flamenco to jazz and sad Irish music, the styles and rhythms giving
musical life from many cultures to the story of rivals and reversals.
Full of anarchy and chaos, this work is great to watch and it makes you
want to get on your own feet and dance, dance, dance!
