With fun songs
and acting Tall Stories tells this much loved children's story, getting
the very young theater-goer wiggling in their seats and spontaneously
supplying the lines and stamping their feet. Yes they loved it.
Felix Hayes is a wonderfully huge Gruffalo, Sharon McArdle makes a delightful
Mouse, scurrying and spirited, and Tom Banks gives superb characterisation
to all the Predators. His east London accented Fox, dancing to a wonderful
Madness-like song, the retired army major Owl and the maracas carrying
Snake with his Mexican hat. Everything about this production is so well
tuned and acted.
After it ended the young man in front of me said "Do we have to
Leave?" A very excellent dramatisation from a British theatre company
who give children and adults a great time in the theatre by giving them
good theatre. They never forgets there's an audience out there wanting
to be delighted.
