Fresh, funny & bursting with vitality.
Oscar is a cheeky, fun loving mouse who just can't resist the urge to
dissappear on adventures from his attic home. This story follows his journey
as he visits his friend Fin the fish as they are swept from a garden pond
to the seabed for an underwater mystery. There they discover that Emperor
Gritsklyter (a giant, evil octopus) is threatening the ocean with his
cruel regime! Can they rescue the deep sea pearl and liberate the occupants
of the seabed?
The future of the ocean rests on Oscar as he attempts to distract the
emperor with his guitar playing in a story which is exciting, absorbing,
punctuated by humour infectious to both children and adults. It's also
got the best use of music I have seen in any children's show including
lots of electro-pop, a beautiful ballad from Fin the fish and Queen's
'I want it all' when we encounter the evil emperor.
Stewart uses ultraviolet light to give his glowing fluorescent rod puppets
life, all of which are colourful, beautifully crafted and full of character.
It is hard to believe that Moustale Puppets are relative newcomers to
the scene. Essentially a one-man operation, Stewart writes all his own
stories, makes his own sets and puppets and composes and performs his
own music, doing all of this with considerable talent.
Fresh, funny and bursting at the seams with vitality this production is
not to be missed!
