Swirling, transporting currents of imagination
Fed up and floating on a raft, drifting musicians, Andy and Iain, are
providing good target practise for noisy gulls. Wee Stories take us
into their world using swirling, transporting currents of imagination
to treasure indeed.
Shortly after we become the sea around them, looking for distraction
they start to tell Stevenson's Treasure Island with whatever comes to
hand. Ah Jim lad! Long John Silver and his parrot - all and more are
excellently conjured up by the shipwrecked survivors, using champagne
bottles, sundry musical instruments and other flotsam and jettison.
Andy Cannon, eternally young and shiny eyed, is the charmed boy
Jim Hawkins, often just one step from danger. Iain Johnstone
plays most of the other characters some comic, some chilling, - all
vivid. Caught up in the thrilling tale, soon you're singing yo, ho,
ho, and a bottle of rum.
All over eight and some under will delight in Jim's adventures where
rogues meet their deserved ends and good men and boy triumph in a smashing
theatrical production of this ripping yarn.
Wee Stories Treasure Island is touring Scotland before and after its
mooring at the Netherbow, Edinburgh during the Fringe. Catch them when
they drift into your waters.
