Theatre listings > Hoops, Hats and Acrobats. - Scottish Company, Tour & World Premiere. Part of the Childrens' International Theatre Festival. Choreographer & Director - Ruby Worth. Designer - Brian Hartley. Composer - Tom Bancroft. Cast - here . Company - Ruby Worth (Scotland). Seen to review at Traverse Edinburgh 27 May 2005. Run Time - 45 mins NO interval. Suggested Age - 5 - 9 years old . Reviewer - Thelma Good. Sparkling mood. Hats of all different size sit on the floor, all white and all conical. With a marvellous attention grabbing start the piece begins. Composer Tom Bancroft has created a score of sounds to make children giggle and gasp. While designer Brian Hartley has lit and created costumes and props to keep the sparkling mood of the production fizzing. But all would be nothing without Ruby Worth's inventive choreography that has adult and child alike smiling and engaged, all executed by dancers who bring youth, warmth and considerable skill to a show that has its technical challenges. Dancing with very tall hats, throwing hoops, balancing and acting with inanimate objects that magically move are amongst the challenges. All ages were in when I saw it, teenagers even responded and the crawling baby just laughed and laughed. Hoop, Hats and Acrobats leaves you feeling good and bright-eyed. An excellent production commissioned by Imaginate from Ruby Worth who, on this evidence, more than lives up to her name. © Thelma Good 27 May 2005 - Published on EdinburghGuide.com Dancers - Tracey Altmann, Donatella Cabras, Seke Chimutengwende, Gareth Green and Anna Ramsay..
