Arches Live. is a great place to discover gems which are unlikely to be seen on any other stage in Scotland. Alessandro Valenzisi's Mad Cow is one such. It's only fifteen minutes but with Lynsey Murdoch giving her all it's as vivid and impact making as a full length production. Throught she plays a cow. Not just any cow, this one has discovered sensual pleasure, once full on from the bull and then twice daily from Farmer Jones has he milks her. The trouble begins when he leaves her not quite completely delivered and her angry actions find her imbibing of quite a different coloured fluid. The tale grows from then on as the cow has to go out into the world to find satisfaction. Dressed in a lycra suit of white with irregular black spots, you'll end up viewing cows with more waryness and realising women of all species shouldn't be thwarted.
