Man of the Moment takes place around the patio and swimming pool of Vic and Trudy Parks' Mediterranean villa. Vic is a reformed criminal turned television personality, now at the height of his fame and enjoying the fruits of his celebrity. Jill, an ambitious media darling is making a television programme "Their Paths Crossed" - hopefully the start of a series - which re-unites people whose lives crossed briefly in the past. Unknown to him, Vic is going to be the programme's first target. Twenty five years ago, Douglas Beechey was the 'have a go' hero, who tackled shotgun toting bank robber Vic. Jill is hoping for "good television" at any cost to the individuals. But things don't pan out the way she had hoped. It's a very funny dark comedy touching issues of celebrity and the media, exploring the nature of crime, punishment, guilt and happiness. Right on the button for our media obessed times. Ben Twist's direction yields great ensemble performances and Richard Addison as Douglas Beechley, the quiet suburban man, particularly contributes to the production's success. The Pitlochry company have taken this award winning play by a master craftsman and delivered an extremely enjoyable evening at the theatre.
