Edinburgh May be about to Derail its Tram Project

The resignation on Friday of three more key officials from the staff of Tie (Transport Initiatives Edinburgh) means that some six or more have abandoned ship in the past few months.   The most recent people to go are two construction experts (presumably because no 'construction' is going on and a risk assessor who, one assumes, was in an excellent position to judge the risk to his own career).

This looks now like an organisation in meltdown. Every week, if not every day, there are more stories about the incompetence of Tie and Edinburgh City Council in planning this project. It is time that the First Minister ordered a full Judicial Inquiry before the damage to the reputation of Edinburgh and Scotland becomes any worse.

It's odd to see more and more people leaping from the good ship 'Tie-tanic' , before  the proposed legal action against the Bilfinger Berger and Siemens consortium even hoves into view.

I mean, considering we all have been told the legal case  is as watertight as ---well the other great 'Titanic', it's strange that there seems to be some panic before the iceberg even looms into the courtroom...... Oh! I see.....   these people rushing for the lifeboats are the ones who know there may not be enough room in them for everyone once it hits....

Maybe the opposite numbers at the consortium are racing panic stricken for the exits as well---or maybe they're not!!
