Film Festival Freebies and Competitions

I'm usually one of the last people to find out about film festival freebies and competitions, but if you haven't had your head stuck in the film festival these last few days then here's a couple of film-related comps for your consideration.

Grolsch have made an open invitation to the party for the UK premiere of The Fourth Dimension at Opal Lounge tomorrow. Free booze too. Sign up here. This was announced yesterday, so there'll likely be few if any tickets left. But you never know.

The Fourth Dimension features three 30 minute films by directors in different countries Harmony Korine, Alexey Fedorchenko and Jan Kwiecinski. They are instructed to follow, in Lars von Trier style,  an identical creative brief.

Win ice cream

Also, EIFF sponsors Mackies ice cream are running a competition, closing 2nd July, in which 2 people will win 14 films from past EIFFs and 14 free Mackie's tub vouchers. The idea is that, like the late Marlon Brando, you can sink deeper into your couch each night with a fresh film and a fresh tub of ice cream.

There's also 20 runner-up prizes of a film and a tub of ice cream.

If you've signed up for an account with the EIFF then you'll also be able to take part in the EIFF Ticket Grab competitions (there have been two so far).
