Edinburgh Council Tax Rates
The Council Tax is the only tax set by Edinburgh City Council. It is a local tax on domestic properties, based on the "open market value" of your home, which goes towards funding local public services in the capital.
Edinburgh's Council Tax for 2008/2009, and for all Scottish councils, is the same as for the previous year.
The Scottish Government plans to abolish the Council Tax and replace it with a local income tax of 3% per individual.
