Gaita Medieval Music Concert: Arthur's Court - Songs of Romance and Chivalry
Medieval music specialists Gaïta present music from France in the High Middle Ages, interwoven with stories from the Arthurian romances, some familiar, some less so.
Medieval romances describe a world of chivalrous knights, great deeds and great loves. The most famous tales – such as that of Lancelot & Guinevere, or Tristan & Iseult – are associated with the legendary court of King Arthur. The same names and themes recur in the songs of the trouveres and troubadours. This music is performed in a delightful mix of song, narration and instrumental music on medieval instruments.
