Description

Following a £17.6m restoration project the Scottish National Gallery throws open its doors again. The refurbished, red stone building will be open from 9am to 5pm every day.

The gallery has been opened up and restored according to its original design, giving the curators spaces over three floors in which to exhibit works from the gallery's extensive collection.

The popular gallery cafe has been revamped, a touchscreen gallery been introduced, and more of the gallery's 38,000 archived photographs will be on view.

If opening day is anything like the Summer re-opening of the National Gallery then people will flock here in numbers.
