London and Glasgow (on Friday 14th, 4pm) have had celebrations to celebrate the Olympian and Paralympian athletes succcesses and contributions at London 2012 games. This is Edinburgh's turn.

The open top bus makes its way from City Chambers to the Assembly Rooms via High Street, The Mound, Hanover Street and George Street.

Edinburgh's own Chris Hoy, who has won more gold medals than any other British Olympian, is also honoured with Freedom of the City in a special (invitation-only) ceremony after the hour-long parade reaches the Assembly Rooms.
