Description

To progress, risk comes before reward, and convention must give way to invention.

In a scene saturated by sound-alike bands, the time has come to evolve or be left behind.
Hardwiring huge, devastating grooves with intelligent and insightful rhyme, Hacktivist are not afraid to split opinion. This is a sound to unite - a new way for a new age.

There's safety in numbers, but Hacktivist are carving a path of their own.

The One Hundred

The last two years have been a bit of a whirlwind for The One Hundred. Having formed in 2012 following the demise of Jacob, Tim and Phil’s previous band, The One Hundred are all about doing it differently. A new breed, and certainly, the new generation. Having started the demoing process for what would become ‘Subculture’, the band’s debut EP, 2013 kicked off officially for The One hundred in October when they played their debut live performances - opening two shows for Outpatients (Mikee from SiKth). It wasn’t long before their phenomenal live shows had agents knocking and with under 10 shows under their belt they had signed to prominent agency Primary Talent.

Road-testing the material became the object of the game for the next few months and the band set about playing as many shows as possible. Their 3rd show found them opening for Skindred and in quick succession their fifth for Sonic Boom Six. As word of their performance spread it was inevitable that festivals were just round the corner. Redfest, Alt-Fest, Hevy, Merthyr Rocks and Sonisphere all have hosted, or will soon be hosting The One Hunded.

Indeed, at Sonisphere the band played two triumphant sets. During the 2014 Sonisphere press conference, when questioned who may one day headline the festival, Kilimanjaro/Sonisphere CEO Stuart Galbraith was quoted as replying with “Well, were you in The Satellite Stage at 11.30am this morning with The One Hundred played?”

Now in July 2014, The One Hundred are proud to announce the release of their Subculture EP globally via We Are Unified, the incredible Australian label that is home to Northlane, The Amity Affliction and Buried in Verona amongst others. Having finished the record with 40 Deep Productions in Surrey, the six track EP is set for release September 1st 2014. The release will be preceded by a new single ‘Downfall’ which will carry an accompanying video, and the band will be hitting the road in winter 2014 on the Download Freezes Over tour headlined by Hacktivist.
