Launched in 2013, TradFest is Edinburgh’s main multi-arts festival dedicated to Scottish culture, traditional, Gaelic and folk arts.

The annual festival brings together Scottish and international artists for a fortnight of music, talks, storytelling, ceilidhs, and exhibitions.

For example, Edinburgh’s Folk Film Gathering will combine screenings of "folk cinema" with talks by traditional storytellers.

TradFest turns central Edinburgh into a hive of activity inspired by and coinciding with the Beltane Fire Festival and May Day.

The Tradfest programme describes the show as thus (in Scots):
