Description

Join charity St Columba Hospice on A Walk to Remember through the heart of Edinburgh along the picturesque Water of Leith.

We have two distances to choose from…

  • The Big Yin – 12.5 miles from Balerno to Leith
  • The Wee Yin – 7 from the Water of Leith Visitor Centre to Leith.

The walk follows the Water of Leith and provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) and the peaceful surroundings of the water, whilst remembering those who have passed away. The event also raises money for the Hospice, helping us to provide care and support for patients and their loved ones.

On this picturesque route through the heart of Edinburgh you’ll take in some of the city’s best-loved sites including Colinton Village and Dell, the Union Canal, Saughton Winter Gardens, Murrayfield Stadium, the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art, Dean Village, Stockbridge, and Leith.

On the day you will receive your event t-shirt, route map and refreshments to keep your energy up along the walk. We have some entertaining quizzes for the children to do on route to keep them busy along the walk. We will have tea, coffee kindly provided by Starbucks along with some stalls selling cakes and St Columba’s merchandise at the finish line point on the Vine Trust Barge. So bring some pennies along with you to grab some treats! There will also be some dog bowls and Scooby snacks for our four legged friends!

Tickets

Registration costs £15 per adult (16+) and £10 per child.

Children under 5 are free and dogs on leads are welcome too. For this you’ll receive a fundraising kit, event t-shirt, refreshments and medal. We ask that each adult aims to raise £50 and each child £25 for this event.
