Bellies will bounce and beards fly when hundreds of Santas make their annual charity jog through Princes Street Gardens. The circuit around the gardens is around 2.5km, so even the most sleigh-bound Santa shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Registration for the event is necessary: Early Bird rates (if you register by 30th November) are £10 for adults (includes a free Santa Suit and medal), £5 for children under 12 years old (includes a free Elve's Hat and medal), £2.50 for children under 2-4 years old. Under-2s are free.

It's all for a good cause: proceeds from the Great Scottish Santa Run will be donated to When You Wish Upon A Star. The charity specialises in "making dreams come true" for children with life-threatening illnesses.

This year's Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk 2016 will help fund The Northern Polar Express Trip the day after the run. Between 60-70 of our Wish Children, together with their family, will travel to Glamis Castle on the Belmond Northern Belle (sister train to the Venice-Simplon Orient Express).
