"Pledge for Parity"

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day has been announced as ‘Pledging for Parity’. The theme is all about celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women, while acknowledging that progress towards gender parity has actually slowed in many places around the world and that urgent concrete action is needed to accelerate gender parity.

This theme fits well with Heriot-Watt University’s Doing things Differently Campaign which is all about taking proactive steps to foster an ethos of equality across the University and to make good practice the norm.
