Description

A public art exhibition with a Christmas theme that dips into the Scottish archives to create Edinburgh’s very own giant advent calendar.

The calendar will be projected onto the facade of General Register House from 5pm to 10pm in the run-up to Christmas, with 25 glimpses of Edinburgh Winters from years gone-by one revealed each day.

Project creators Double Take Projections draw on the archives of the city dating back to the 1700s from the National Library of Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland and General Register House. They then combine the imagery with a soundscape of that year.
