The Edinburgh Short Film Festival bills itself as Edinburgh's accessible, friendly and eclectic short film festival.

Over 8 nights at Summerhall and Filmhouse the festival of shorts will screen 29 award-winning short films from home and across the globe, many making their first UK stop on the festival circuit in Edinburgh.

Selected Scottish films will be programmed alongside films from China, Reunion Island, New Zealand, Lebanon, Turkey, Hungry, and Afghanistan. Special screenings will show top Mexican and Estonian short films.

The festival includes the Audience Award winner from Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals, the Tribeca Grand Jury Award winners and the best short films from SXSW, Aspen Shortfest, Palm Springs International Shortfest, London and Brussels Short Film Festivals and a Palme D’or nominated film from Cannes.

On the animation front, there are films from Anifest, Annecy International Animation Festival, and Animayo.

As well as guest directors from Italy, Ireland and China, there are workshops on time-lapse photography and on VFX for indie film-makers.

Radio show Cinetopia will be hosting networking sessions and the fest rounds off with the closing night party on Saturday November 10th.

Schmooze on!
