Description

The New Year's Day Tri-athlon falls during the annual Edinburgh's Hogmanay programme - a fun or serious, open competition involving a swim, a bike race, and a run. Organisers say that around a third of competitors are "triathlon virgins".

The event starts at the Royal Commonwealth Pool with a 400m swim (8 lengths of the Commonwealth Pool), followed by an approximately 11 mile cycle (three times around Arthur’s Seat in a clockwise direction) and a 3.5 mile (5.63km) run (once around Arthur’s Seat again clockwise).

Kids Duathlon

For families and younger runners, there is a separate Duathlon race for 8 – 15 year olds involving a short run, 2k bike ride and another short run, all on closed roads.

Race Times

The kids’ Duathlon will start at 11am, the Triathlon at 12.15pm. Both start at The Royal Commonwealth Pool.

Book a spot at the Edinburgh Tri-athletes website.
