Saint Patrick's Day

Pubs around Edinburgh pipe out copious amounts of the black stuff and paint the town green to mark the national day for Ireland's patron saint St Patrick. Scotland and Ireland have ancestral ties going back into the mists of time, although it doesn't extend to an Edinburgh or Scottish holiday.
