Getting there from Edinburgh

It's Glasgow! Trains from Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket are fastest (45 minutes or so for fastest trains) and run frequently throughout the day. There are plenty of intercity buses to choose from from St Andrew Square and other stops. It takes around 70 minutes for faster buses.

Background: T in the Park

Before DF Concerts kicked off TRNSMT, it held T in the Park each year. The festival was named after its chief sponsor, the brewing company Tennents and was held annually from 1994.

T in the Park was originally held at Strathclyde Park, then from 1997 to 2014 was held at the airfield in Balado, near Kinross.

It had seven stages of music, a large camping area, with stalls, funfair, and Big Wheel.

In 2015, it moved to  Strathallan Castle in Perthshire.

T in the Park ran over three days in July until the announcement that the festival was not continuing in late 2016.

In January 2017, an early line-up was revealed the first TRNSMT festival to take place later that year.
