Up
an oot, ra day promises. Ah went oot tae see ah few pentin exhibitions
ah headed furra RSA, ye ken, ra big buildin at ra bottom o ra mound.
On the wey there, ah watched ra buskers, they dinna haff work hard fur
their cash.
Ah had a look roond ra exhibition and a wis flamoxed, a fella called Andrew
Stenhoose wis sellin his washing, fur £2,000. Some body wis selling
some auld General's pee fur a lot o money an wis caein it sculpture. The
artist fella fi Prestonpans had a peinten fur sale fur £50,000 which reminded
me of a nightmare I yince haid. Fishy eyes, bare private bits, an red
noses: definitely, av bein in that peinten, it ane tyme. But I think it
might have been the drink. Ah haid had enough, ah needed ah drink. Since
it wis close, Milnes bar wid dae.
Efter a few restorative goldies. Ah headed aff tae the Hill Street
Theatre tae see ah show caed Sodom, ah felt like ah should
be wearin ah trench coat, some young luvvies in ra scud actin oot a seventeenth
century banned play. Still they were aw young, pretty and sincere, an
ah suppose it wis cheeper than ah pole dancing club.
Ah went in search o ra Flea circus in ra Princes street Gairdens
ah couldna see the wee fella's, but somebody telt me that they aw had
tae huv passports. Maks yie wunder. There's a fella in London whae has
a big shop wha canny get yin, but ah flea can git yin. Shairly that's
no richt? Enywye whithir or no we could see them everything moved, including
ra fowk when they goat up tae go, ah noticed maist fowk huvin a wee secret
scratch.
The Film festival beconned. A pop star, turned film director caed Damien
somethin', wis bein shown around. He arrived, the photographers tried
to tak his pictir but he lived up tae his name and disappeared in a Blur.
Ah thought, enoughs ah enough. Ah few goldies wie some Edinburghers, but
no festival Fowk, then Hamewurd ……what am ah daein ra morra? Ah dinna
ken.
