Dr
Bunhead's Exploding Vegetables Drams
of Irn Bru Venue Scottish International at Dynamic Earth (Venue 18) Address Holyrood Rd Reviewer Thelma Good
Dynamic Earth offers all year round simulated volcanic explosions. Dr
Bunhead has come with his exploding vegetables to offer real ones during
the festival. Dressed in a multicoloured lab coat he explains science
and how not to eat fire to a mixed and entertained audience of excited
kids and astounded adults.
Give the right answer and a scientific law may be named after you! A
chance to see how well you understand the laws of physics and how extraordinary
the ways of science are. Did you know that if there was one percent
more oxygen in the air we'd all be crisps?
Runs till 28th except Mons and Tues.
The
Druid Tree Drams
of Irn Bru Venue Columbus Childrens Theatre (Venue124) Address Rocket@Kirk
o' Field Reviewers Hynde (9) and her Mum Catriona.
This excellent production is listed as a childrens show, but it really
has a whole family appeal, especially if you are a fan of Celtic music.
The Druid Tree is a musical tale combining Celtic myth with ancient/
modern archetypes which explores our relationship with nature, friendships,
and caring for the environment. The story of the special friendship
between Anam ( a trainee druid) and Cara (human) is told by the wonderful
celtic songs and music by Tadd Russo and Bill Benton The story-line
moves along at a fast and colourful pace keeping even the younger members
of the audience, and suprisingly for a childrens show, the adults enthralled.
Superb performances by all the cast, especially Clint Carter ( An Dagda)
,Phook(Gordon Holey) and my daughters favourite, Willow (Samantha Eggers).
The humour provided by the two squirrels also deserves a mention. Kids
take your parents they will enjoy it.
