"The Private Klee"

The resident exhibition is worth seeing even if you are rather surprised that the two American tourists seem riveted by one exhibit. Having attempted to engage them in conversation, it turns out they are Duane Hanson's (1925-96) latex ' tourists', and are not likely to contradict your opinion!

There are also good examples of Lichenstein, Warhol and others from over the watter, as well as Bellany, Eardley, MacTaggart and other home-grown artists.

However, watch this space for our view of Klee's exhibition which starts on 12th August, from Hanni Burgi's collection, the most outstanding, still in private hands. She was an enduring patron of Klee's from his early days, and accrued an exceptional collection of his works.

The Times: Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 2-5pm From 13th August: Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 11am-5pm. Klee exhibition 12/8/00-22/10/00
Admission: Free to see the in-house exhibits."The Private Klee" £4, concessions £3 Joint admission with Dali exhibition £6, con.£4.50
