Themes and Variations; Paintings by Geoffrey Roper

Sales at this exhibition will help funds of the Marie Curie Foundation, but the general impression is that he has produced a large number of small format paintings - maybe only 7x9 inches, of a face, small figure, animal, etc. for commercial purposes. There are a few large format paintings which to me are in a different league, particularly the Balloonist and the Aeronaut. The latter being a skydiver, before the parachute has opened and is large and dark above the clouds over the crisscross of tiny streets far below, either side of a city river.

Mon-Sat 10am to 5pm, Sun 1pm to 5pm.
