Edinburgh Book
Festival
In the maelstorm that is the Edinburgh Festival, the Book Festival in
Charlotte Square Gardens is an island of tranquility, a haven from all
the madness of the Fringe.
The management and staff over the last few years, have worked extremely
hard to make the Book Festival the most people and child friendly festival,
of all the festivals in Edinburgh.
When you walk through the entrance, into the tented village in the middle
of the city, you quickly become aware that you are in very different
festival.
There is a sense of sanctuary; the place has this effect, not only on
the visiting public, but also on the famous people and authors who come
to talk at the Book Festival. Maybe it is the nature of book world,
but it is an atmosphere that you must try and experience in person.
For those of you who cannot come to the Edinburgh and the International
Book Festival. We at EdinburghGuide.com will try to bring you this experience
through the eyes and words of our reviewers and interviewers, we plan
to have coverage of most of the major events of the Book Festival.
Should you have any special requests obviously within reason, feel free
to send them to me. John Ritchie. editor@EdinburghGuide.com
