The Perrier Comedy Awards 2001

Along with this accolade the winner is almost guaranteed to be catapulted to fame. Past winners include Steve Coogan, Frank Skinner, Lee Evans, Rich Hall and Jenny Eclair, who hosted this year's ceremony.

This year's winner was hotly tipped by our reviewer, Garry Platt, who said, "Last year Garth Marenghi was nominated for the Perrier short list. If there is any justice in this world they should walk away with it this year - go on Perrier, I dare you, break the mould."
Congratulations from EdinburghGuide!
