Exhibition: Devil in the Detail: The Paintings of Adam Elsheimer
(1578 -1610)

free to children under 12

First exhibition in Britain devoted to one of art’s great, but unsung heroes. Elsheimer’s brief, brilliant career influenced generations of artists; this exhibition will include nearly all his surviving paintings.

This exhibition of sculptures by the Australian-born artist renowned fro his hyper-realistic representation of the human body and breathtaking use of scale, will bring together early and recently completed work.

In collaboration with Kunsthallen Brandts in Denmark Girlpower/Boyhood is an international exhibition curated by the Danish Art critic Lisbeth Bonde, Principal Curator of Talbot Rice gallery, Pat Fisher and Curator Lene Burkard of Kunsthallen Brandts, Odense.

The exhibition will survey artists who work with realistic fantasy painting. They share a preoccupation with fairytales, romantic illusions, dreams and symbols.
