Energy. Enthusiasm. Skimpy costumes. A casino. All in a fabulous historical venue, the Jam House. What more could you want from a late night cabaret show?

The cabaret acts ran for about two hours and showcased a rare mix of raw talent and energy. Think slapstick dance, flappers, a magician (Paul Zennon to be specific), aerobatics, burlesque and a crooning Hitler. All of the acts are talented enough to have a Fringe Show of their own, and the entertainment never let up for four hours. Having wowed Glastonbury, the impressive production of Lost Vagueness has alas, only a few nights left here in Edinburgh.

Even my husband was satisfied, playing blackjack at the casino (using proper croupiers from Stanley casino down the road) whilst I danced to the eleven-piece band, Bison from 3am. The cabaret acts and bands change each night, so check out www.lostvagueness.com for the line up.

I left the show entertained, exhausted and inspired. Worth staying up for!
