Having never really thought much of McIntyre on BBC’s Mock the Week, I was surprised at how enjoyable his live show was. Due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, more shows have in fact been added to the bill, but for now, it seems like tickets are few and far between.

McIntyre made performing to a sell-out audience look easy, as his slick way of joke-telling made the hour fly by and left you wanting more.

Having recently welcomed a second child, he definitely came across as a proud father. He incorporated anecdotes not only from his home life, but also from his time in Edinburgh so far. His comments on the building of the new tram had the audience laughing in agreement all out.

Many of the comedians this year are picking up on the ordinary things that people do and making a joke out of them. One woman behind me gave a lovely running commentary on how her family were exactly the way that McIntyre described.

As he flounced around the stage, commenting on his poor decision to be involved with Big Brother, he won myself, and everyone else over with his English charm.

This show looks like a definite sell-out for the rest of the Festival, so if you manage to come across some tickets, grab them with both hands. McIntyre has an upper-class comedy style that will definitely have you laughing until your sides hurt.
