Fears dispelled by 5 star performance by energetic and talented cast!

With a church as its venue, the production company called "The Hope Company", and the show "Godspell," you wonder what you might see. From the moment the band hits the first number through to the last, these teenagers excel in acting, singing and dancing and their timing was spot on.

In a theatre in the round setting the cast are not in any way fazed by the audience being so close.

For once the flyer does not exaggerate:

"Godspell is an exceptionally influential and emotional piece of musical theatre. Performed by the Hope Theatre Company under the imaginative direction of Adam Stone the show is compelling and powerful with an amazingly spontaneous feel."

The investment in radio microphones and a great sound system was well worth it. The solos were all good and the harmonies seemed flawless. The choreography and general movement around the stage was complex, but carried off with panache. The tension of the last supper was tangible, but the cast was equally at home with humour.

These youngsters may be Bristol's cream, but there are a number of companies at the fringe who could learn a lot by getting along to the last few performances of a short but triumphant visit to Edinburgh.
