FOO FIGHTERS CANCEL T ON THE FRINGE GIG AUG
21, 2001Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was hospitalised yesterday morning after an apparent overindulgence following the V2001 festival in Chelmsford last weekend. The band have been forced to cancel their sold out T on the Fringe gig on 30 August at Edinburgh's Corn Exchange as well as the remainder of their UK and European dates. T on the Fringe organiser, Dave Corbet of DF Concerts says "We're obviously disappointed that the Foo Fighters have had to cancel their T on the Fringe date as we were looking forward to them being the climax of the festival. We send our best wishes to Taylor and the band and look forward to seeing the Foo Fighters back in Scotland in the near future." Those who have purchased tickets for the T on the Fringe Foo Fighter's gig on 30 August 2001, should return to the point of purchase for a full refund. This includes credit card bookings. T on the Fringe continues at the Liquid Rooms and Corn Exchange, with Michael Franti and Spearhead tonight, Supergrass (23 Aug), Space (24 Aug), Lowgold (25 Aug), Arab Strap (26 Aug) and My Vitriol (27 Aug). T Break returns to T on the Fringe with a Best of T Break night which takes place on Aug 13th at the Liquid Rooms. This special night will be showcasing the best of the new unsigned talent that Tennent's Lager and DF Concerts found during their search through the 18 showcases put on earlier in the year. Each band spectacularly wowed the crowds at T in the Park and are back as part of T on the Fringe. Joining the bill are Ellis, Wayne Paycheck, Bendy Toy, Breschnev, McSleazy and Risingson. This is the 2nd T on the Fringe, the modern music event at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, which takes places throughout August at the Corn Exchange and the Liquid Rooms. Several shows have already sold out (Starsailor, Powderfinger, The Avalanches and Frank Black & The Catholics) and tickets for the other 17 shows are selling fast and furiously!
