The Exhibition One Festival…Four Cities

The Place ArtiZIN, 30 Dundas Street

The Blurb The vivacious owner of this gallery, a self-professed business woman, strives to offer something for everyone.

The Festival show brings together a variety of two and three dimensional pieces of students' work from four major Scottish cities. Among these are Nicola Cairns's large blue paintings of jazz musicians, which sold out almost immediately; works by Lorraine Tolmie, whose models illustrating the 'water babies' and other childrens' tales are thought-provoking; humourous drawings from Alison Sidgwick; and delicate glass and copper nests and other glass items from Sallie Robertson, as well as work from other student contributors.

The gallery also houses work from more mature artists, including Don Strauss, whose recent tragic death will prevent him learning of the success his lively colourful work is achieving. A visit to this gallery is an entertainment in itself.
