Revolutionary Bristolian punk ethic meets super-funked up New York beats and wide-screen dub massacre as Mark Stewart and his Maffia hit Edinburgh on the first date of a mini-world tour, promoting the new album: Edit.

Striding to notoriety with a succession of hard-edged punk releases with the The Pop Group, Mark Stewart is regarded as the godfather of the Bristol Sound. His solo efforts create a genre-defying blend of techno, dub, funk, punk and more - spiced up with Stewart's sizzling lyrical sideswipes.

Such diversity demands a talented Maffia. With Doug Wimbish, Keith LeBlanc and Skip McDonald, the house-band of Sugarhill Records who powered the label to fame as the rhythm section on such classics as The Message, you have exactly that. And with Mr Adrian Sherwood, On-U Sound's towerhouse of dub, on the mixing desk, the perfect combination is complete.

Doors 8pm. Tickets priced £18 are available now from Tickets Scotland, Ripping, Underground Solushun, The Voodoo Rooms, online at www.ticketweb.co.uk or by phone on 0132 220 3234.
