Young performers to set Festival Finale alight!

Two top young traditional musicians are due to set the Scottish International Storytelling Festival Finale Concert alight!

BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards Winners 2007 - Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller - will be performing material off their debut album - In a Bleeze with Matthew Watson, mixing song, fiddle, guitar and piano in a dazzling display.

Organiser, Fiona Campbell, TMSA Edinburgh & Lothians Branch Convener commented " We are so pleased to welcome back these two talented musicians to the stage. And we wanted to work with the Storytelling Festival as their theme of Northlands and Sagalands chimes so closely with our Scandinavian and Scottish one for the Northern Streams Festival we hold in April each year". She added that Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller will be performing on the same bill as Judy Collins at Celtic Connections 2009. "If you don't think you will be able to travel to Glasgow to catch them in the New Year, then certainly take the opportunity to see these amazing performers now in Edinburgh!"

The storytelling link is provided by top storyteller, Liz Wilson, will entertain with tales from the North as a longtime resident of Caithness and Orkney. It is expected a few other people may also take a turn to tell stories onstage to round off the Scottish International Storytelling Festival for 2008.

This is a TMSA Edinburgh & Lothians event run in conjunction with the Scottish International Storytelling Festival as their Festival Finale event, inspired by their theme of Northlands and Sagalands. As this theme ties into our annual Northern Streams Festival background (usually held in April each year), we decided that a bonus one off concert would be a good thing to do!

4. The Traditional Music and Song Association (TMSA) of Scotland exists to promote and develop interest and participation in traditional music and song.
