Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society and Parabola announce New Tram Partnership

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society and Parabola, in association with Edinburgh Trams, have unveiled a specially wrapped Fringe tram as part of a new partnership that aims to promote culture across the city of Edinburgh and beyond. The Fringe tram will be in service for 12 months, encouraging locals to take a leap into the unknown and try something new at the Fringe.

As part of a major redevelopment of Edinburgh Park, which will include up to one million square foot of commercial space and around 1,800 homes, Parabola have acquired the rights for six trams, helping promote both the development and its relationship to the city as a whole.
Real estate development and investment group Parabola will provide significant in-kind sponsorship to the Fringe, highlighting their long-term commitment to culture as part of Edinburgh Park’s overall masterplan, which will include civic spaces, landscaped squares, boulevards and commissioned artwork.

Shona McCarthy, Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society said, “We are delighted to announce this new partnership and to see our very own Fringe tram transporting Edinburgh residents and visitors alike into the unknown this year. We hope as many people as possible enjoy all the Fringe has to offer and explore Edinburgh on our distinctive Fringe tram.”

The Fringe Society took over the tram and held a silent disco with community groups from across Edinburgh and Fringe performers to celebrate World Fringe Day 2018 on 11th July. The video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/1XCN23vvyS4
