Around 12,000 women are preparing to paint the town pink tonight in the 3rd Edinburgh Moonwalk, a late night, charity walk to raise money and awareness about breast cancer.

Participants will powerwalk a marathon or half-marathon starting and ending at the specially erected marquee on the Meadows. You can already see women around town wearing the pink-coloured clothing, feathers, and hats. Pink is the trademark colour of the Moonwalk.

As with other moonwalks, tonight they will be walking in decorated bras to draw attention to the cause.

Streets will be closed off on the walk from 6.30pm to 2am.
