Last Thursday my other half and I went to the grand opening of the rebranded Est Est Est on George Street. The red carpet was rolled out, and press gang photographers snapping all who entered. The crowd was up market and squeezed in like sardines, the alcohol flowing freely and consequently the noise level deafening (as usually associated with free good quality booze).
A brief performance from a cheeky burlesque performer ensured the men were happy, and the ladies satisfied to have discovered a new swelegant hang out. The opening of Living Ventures (they of Living Room fame) new venture was indeed a success.
The elegant décor and vibe inspired by classic 1950's American Italian restaurants translates well to a modern Scottish setting. Est Est Est has been transformed to a sultry alter ego. Thankfully the amount of open space has been maintained, but with a nod towards THE popular George Street pastime – being seen at a smart bar. Move over Tigerlily.
The Italian themed menu looks reasonably priced and tasty. I will certainly be back, and with a name like Gusto, I am sure my appetite will be well satisfied…
