Edinburgh To St Andrews Bike Ride for LEPRA 2008
Over 1,000 cyclists will be pedalling for leprosy charity LEPRA in this 67 mile bike ride from East Market Street in Edinburgh City Centre to the links in the heart of St Andrews. You don't have to stick to conventional bikes. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome. It is a ride not a race, and riders are supported by repair vans for that unexpected puncture!
The ride leaves the centre of Edinburgh at 8.45am in the morning and follows a well-planned route to the Forth Road Bridge. The route then takes cyclists over the Cleish Hills and through some of the loveliest countryside that Fife has to offer to St Andrew's.
At the highest and often the hottest point an ice cream van awaits you. Home cooked lunches and afternoon teas are available along the way and lots of friendly encouragement and support. When you arrive in St Andrew's no need to contemplate the return ride, vans transport the bikes and buses take cyclists back to Edinburgh.
Registration £8 (£5)
Bus from St. Andrews £12 departing Saturday evening or Sunday morning
