Stand Comedy Club, The

Edinburgh's all year round comedy club can be found in a basement bar just off St. Andrew Square.

The Edinburgh New Town comedy venue nurtures new talent in its early week slots, and features up-and-coming and bigger comedians on other evenings and weekends. It's a good place to find comedy Scottish style and a compact setting for intimate sets with bigger names.

Cabaret style seating most of the time although late night shows may not be seated. And you thought the name just referred to the fact that it hosts stand-up comedy...?

During the Edinburgh Fringe, the Stand operates a second venue, the Stand Comedy Club III and IV, across the road at 28 York Place.
