Edinburgh Film Festival Gala To Mark Sir Sean's 80th
The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will be celebrating Sir Sean Connery's 80th year, and his support as Patron since 1992, at a screening of John Huston’s 1975 colonial yarn The Man Who Would Be King.
Scotland's renowned Hollywood star will be attending the Special Gala on Sunday 20th at the new EIFF venue Edinburgh Festival Theatre. The event is being sponsored by the Festival’s latest sponsor Bank of Scotland.
“This event is a fitting way to celebrate Sir Sean's 80 years - almost twenty of which he has given to support of EIFF as Patron," said Hannah McGill, Artistic Director of the EIFF. "He is a great friend of the Festival and we look forward to celebrating this amid the glitter of the Festival Theatre.”
Sir Sean Connery has described the film, which also stars Michael Caine, as one of his personal favourites.
Tickets go on sale for the event at noon on Thursday 3 June.
As part of their support, Bank of Scotland will also be giving away 250 free tickets to their customers.
