Scottish Santa Run

A crowd of Santas in Edinburgh's Winter Festivals

Bellies will bounce and beards fly when hundreds of Santas make their annual charity jog through Princes Street Gardens. The circuit around the gardens is around 2.5km, so even the most sleigh-bound Santa shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Thousands of runners will be pounding the streets and hills of Edinburgh for the well-established 10-mile run. The "Great Day of Running" includes men's, women's, and children's runs.

Edinburgh Great Winter Run

A 5km run - shorter than the 10-mile Great Edinburgh Run held in the Summer. The run starts at Holyrood Park and is open to all running abilities over 14 years old. There is also a Junior Winter Run of 2.5km road run for runners of all abilities aged 7-13 years old.

Junior runners start after the adult race at 11:45.

Edinburgh Marathon

Launched in 2003, the Edinburgh Marathon is the second largest marathon in the UK. The event has forked out into several running events that attract 26,000 entrants for several long-distance runs over the course of the weekend under the banner the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. The Edinburgh Marathon itself starts on Sunday morning at 9:50am at London Road & 10:00am at Regent Road, Edinburgh.
